If you’re like the staff at Blue Springs Ford Parts, you are absolutely obsessed with Fords like the Shelby GT500 KR. Unfortunately, most people can’t afford an actual 1968 Shelby GT500 KR. That’s why this paper model is such a cool little project. Heck, even if you can afford a GT500 KR, this paper model will make a neat addition to your collection.
All you need for the paper version is a printer, knife, glue, and the PDF you will find by following this link to the main site. There you will find complete instructions on how to build your own model, including a video tutorial by the person who designed the paper model for Blue Springs Ford Parts.
This paper model is fashioned after the 1968 Shelby GT5000 “King of the Road” RK. The real car is underrated at 335 horsepower and is equipped with a 428 Cobra-Jet engine, fiberglass deck lid and hood, and extra scoops and vents throughout. A numbers matching 1968 Shelby GT500 KR is worth a lot to collectors.
At a recent Barrett-Jackson auction, a 1968 in a stunning red sold for $110,000. This car, at the Scottsdale, Arizona auction, wasn’t a numbers matching ride, it would have sold for much more if it were.
